The inaugural Albany Film Festival: Rescheduled, reimagined, re-energized
April 24 - May 3
Join us for a dynamic hybrid event with many options for anyone who loves movies, the stories they tell and the creative artists who make them:
-
A free movie night at the Malta Drive-In with juried shorts, a documentary premiere and feature films.
-
A dazzling immersive projection mapping light show, “Passages,” celebrating the Capital Region’s rich literary and filmmaking history.
-
Online workshops for aspiring filmmakers and engrossing virtual conversations with film legends who will receive the Ironweed Award for Exemplary Achievement in Film.
-
Free and open to the public. First 100 attendees (or cars) at the movie night and "Passages" will receive a limited edition Albany Film Festival tote bag.
The Albany Film Festival Projection Mapping Event will include illuminating the night sky and exterior of the Science Library on the uptown UAlbany campus with a dazzling 3D immersive light show.
The display will include a narrative of the Capital Region’s cultural legacy and the history of major movies filmed on location in the area.
Register for 30 minute time slots for each night. Each ticket is good for a party of up to 4 people.
